Introduction to Roll Forging Process
Roll forging process is to make the metal billet pass through a pair of rotating roll forging dies. The latter exerts pressure on the former, causing the former to undergo continuous local plastic deformation, thereby obtaining the required forgings or preforms.
Roll forgings have good metal flow lines and high fatigue resistance life. The material utilization rate of roll forging is 5 – 20 times that of other general processes. It has good working conditions, small tonnage of required equipment, low requirements for the foundation of the equipment, is easy to realize mechanization and automation, and has high production efficiency.
Since roll forging uses static pressure, the impact, vibration and noise are all small, which meets the environmental protection requirements of modern manufacturing industry.
